Stay at the Lodge

Staying at the Lodge on Bardsey Island is a fantastic way to experience this magical island and you do not need to be a birdwatcher to stay - all are welcome.

The hostel-style accommodation offered at the Lodge is comfortable but basic; being an island there is a very limited water supply and facilities are shared. That said, there is 24-hour solar power, internet, central heating and hot running water, and of course there is always the opportunity to watch any bird ringing we are doing during your stay! There are comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, large dining room, cosy common room and library and a pleasant terrace with picnic tables and a spectacular view!

The Lodge is open from April to the end of October and stays are from Saturday to Saturday.

To enquire about a booking, email the Bookings Administrator here, or you can download and send a booking form from the link below.

Bardsey Island is located off the tip of the Llŷn peninsula, North Wales, see map here  and access to the island is by boat. All the information you will need for getting to the island, getting the boat, and staying on the island at the Lodge, will be sent with your booking confirmation. For information about day trips to Bardsey with boatman Colin Evans click here

If you wish to go on one of our spectacular night-time Manx Shearwater walks (£10) be sure to book the week before, or during, the new moon in April, May, June, July or August. If you wish to see migration, book your visit during April, May, September or October.

Or for the night skies, the Milky Way is best seen during the autumn new moons. The island’s Puffins and other seabirds can be seen from the boat in May and June. The island's Grey Seal colony can be seen year round, however the pups can be seen in September and October.
